Re: Reece oxford
Does seem odd. Though that's typical of our youth policy. No chance to assess him pre-season. No desire to actually include him. If he plays there then we'll all say 'why isn't he in our team?'. If he doesn't we'll say 'why loan him somewhere to be a reserve again?'.

Re: Reece oxford
You would have thought after that Arsenal game he would have kicked on and be one of the best young players in the PL if not the world, but no, that August day nearly 2 years ago was the pinnacle of his career, this move maybe the last chance saloon otherwise he’s in the same boat and going the same way as Ravel Morrison…………………….

Good luck Reece

Re: Reece oxford
Hopefully get his head down and get in the side. Its a strong league to play in and i think it can only benefit him

He's definitely not ready for our 1st team yet but a year away playing for the side can only help imo

Re: Reece oxford
I reckon this has got more to do with getting him away from his 'entourage' than anything else.

Re: Reece oxford
This seems to indicate that Bilic has the likes of Burke ahead of Oxford.

Good side, good league, he'll improve if he plays.

Re: Reece oxford
BMG are a better side than us, so why would they want him?

its a sad state of affairs that people believe he can learn things there that we cant coach.

Re: Reece oxford
Let's hope he doesn't fail so miserably at this loan, the badly advised billy big bollocks cunt.

This is the type of thing fergie would do with promising youngsters, get them an education.

Toughen him up. Competitive league. Part of his learning process. Can't see it being a bad move.

Re: Reece oxford
Not sure if he is at the level to start for them week in week out

Also would like to of seen him have a chance pre-season

Still hopefully he can get some games under his belt and develop as a player and a person

Got a feeling a bottom half championship side would be better for him though

Re: Reece oxford
This could be great for him, but I can't help wondering why we can't coach him ourselves and give him a chance in our team.

Grumpster 9:35 Tue Jun 20
Re: Reece oxford
I just can't see him playing much, considering they're a better team than we are.

Hopefully that isn't the case then.

Re: Reece oxford
Totally agree.

Get him out of London so he can concentrate on football.

They are a good side in a tough league and it will be a good experience for him.

Re: Reece oxford
Not sure why it's odd, he needed to go somewhere where he will play regularly, especially after last season's dreadful loan at Reading. Christensen, the young Chelsea defender, has just spent a very successful 2 seasons there and has come along well. Also, there have been various rumours about Oxford's attitude, thinking he has already made it, billy big spuds, not putting the effort in etc, being away from home should do him the world of good. I really can't see this as anything other than a superb move for him, and us.
